Aileen has recently taught the Gonsalves Method to directors in training at RADA and Birkbeck on the MA in Text and Performance. As well as teaching directors to improve their directing using the method, she teaches choreographers, designers, writers and teachers across all levels of education to use the Gonsalves signature Five Conditions to enhance their practice. She has worked alongside directors and voice coaches on films to improve authenticity and consistency in performance and help build a shared language between directors and their teams to improve harmony, cohesion and efficient communication on sets and in rehearsal rooms. She also works in building directors’ confidence to gauge truthful performance in auditions or when assessing self-tapes, as well as consults and troubleshoots on how to redirect efficiently to get the best results from actors in performance.
